Barcelona midfielder Rafinha Alcantara is reportedly considering his future at the club after the signing of Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool, with Arsenal among his suitors.
According to Don Balon, the 24-year-old is aware he needs to play more and seems to be weighing up a number of offers, including from Arsenal and Inter Milan.
Once considered a promising young talent at the Nou Camp, things haven’t really worked out for Rafinha due to plenty of high-calibre competition for places in midfield.
Arsenal could now benefit from that as Coutinho only adds to Rafinha’s problem in that department following his arrival in the last few days.
The Brazil international is surely set to become a key member of Ernesto Valverde’s side, and Arsenal will be pleased if that means they can then pounce for one of their targets.
Don Balon claim Arsene Wenger could see the midfielder as an ideal replacement for Mesut Ozil, who is nearing the end of his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal fans may want to see the club go in for someone a little more proven, though beggars can’t be choosers at this point as the Gunners may struggle to attract bigger names without Champions League football.
