Manchester United could have found their ideal fullback. The club are prepared to pay Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj’s £44 million release clause this summer.
Mourinho wants a new right back to challenge Antonio Valencia for next season. It helps that Hysaj can also play left back when required.
The player is at the right age, 24, to establish himself as a top fullback in the Premier League.
And it appears that United are not worried about the prospect of having to pay his full release clause, with Napoli not eager to sell a prized asset.
It is unlikely that Hysaj will be the only Napoli star to leave this summer, especially if manager Maurizio Sarri departs for Chelsea.
